An enormous amount of Anti Aging and Lifestyle research, developing healthy living tips was generated for baby boomers entering into the golden stage of life. Over 80 million "baby boomers" are now between 40 and 50 years of age – in the USA only.

Our mainstream medicine doctors are usually rushing to explain many health concerns and problems by patient's "chronological" age, and often suggest useless prescriptions.

A recommendation to take some medications without even describing their side effects for the rest of patient's life is absolutely normal these days. What a lovely way to generate a life-long income for creators of these medications!

Holistic Medicine explains these "age related" health issues as the end result of our unhealthy lifestyle choices, leading to poor nutrition, stress and toxic overload.

There are many studies and research suggesting that the sooner we start using healthy living tips by changing our habits towards a healthy lifestyle and anti aging diet, the sooner we see the result, avoiding various aging problems.

Adapting these healthy living tips One in a Time eliminates many aging issues ahead of us or slows down our aging process for a foreseeable future.

We listed below some of the most important healthy living tips and lifestyle rules, easily adaptable by every one of us.

Following these healthy living tips will do more for any young or aging person than all “FDA approved” pharmaceutical industry’s side effects loaded “solutions” together. You can visit our prescription drugs page for some very sad statistics.

This website also has lots of info that will help you in your quest for a better lifestyle.

Better lifestyle choices rules to follow

1. Avoid any continuous signs of stress. Good holistic doctors emphasize “continuous”, suggesting living active life with its constant short term stress here and there.This is one of the most important healthy living tips.

Our nervous and emotional systems can and should be trained as our muscles in a fitness center. The more we are trained handling many short stressful situations, the easier we “take” on sometimes unavoidable and heavy continuous stress cases.

A long term stress increases free-radical production and lipid peroxidation in the brain, causing it to age abnormally and rapidly. Eliminating or at least learning to handle signs of stress is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, and again - one of the most important healthy living tips.

Our inability to handle continuously unrelieved stress might be a sign of a weak internal antioxidant network and we should consider taking good supplemental antioxidants. See our Anti Aging Supplements page by following this link.

If you are looking for more science behind healthy living tips and role of antioxidants in our aging, see our Why We Age section by following this link.

If you would like to add a specific brain fitness program to your healthy living tips related to your health concerns you should follow the previous link.

If you feel an excessive nervousness in cases of short signs of stress, consider supplementing yourself with a good Vitamin B complex. It can be a very effective addition to the rest of healthy life tips and supplementation approaches, possibly making a surprising life changing difference.

You can also review our positive and negative thinking pages to see how avoiding frequent negative emotions and developing happier and more optimistic approaches to life can protect us from the most damaging diseases. You can also learn the ways to achieve that. It can be a good addition to our list of healthy living tips.

2. Look for ways to have at least eight hours of sleep a night. Many studies show that well arranged in a dark room, sufficient duration sleep slows down our brain and other organs aging. New studies again and again demonstrate a tremendous importance of this healthy lifestyle rule.

3. Enjoy regular moderate exercise. We emphasize “moderate”, because according to many studies and available statistics, a long duration extreme exercising generates huge amounts of free radicals and creates just the opposite from commonly expected effect. Moderate exercising relieves stress and slows down brain and other organs aging.

If you are wondering what we mean by "moderate exercise" you should look at our End of Fitness as we know it page.

If you are “in love” with a requiring extreme exercising sport, you can and should protect yourself by supplementing with good antioxidants, including Coenzyme Q10, which is known to increase energy and vitality on cellular and whole body levels.

4. At least once a week, fast from morning till dinner. Fasting has been shown to dramatically slow down brain aging and accelerate repair of this essential organ.

Many experiments have demonstrated that fasting causes the brain to generate growth-stimulating chemicals (brain growth factor and epithelial growth factor) that promote healing of damaged neurons. Make it a part of your healthy eating plan. This is also very important component of our healthy living tips.

5. Avoid processed foods and try eating only freshly prepared (if possible – organic) meals. Most processed foods contain harmful fats (omega-6 fats), foreign to our digestive system chemical additives and even toxic metals – all under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) very responsible watch. In addition, most of them also contain too much salt and sugar.

Eat foods with plenty of fiber. Good examples are whole grains and vegetables like -

* brown rice
* quinoa, and
* millet
* celery
* asparagus, and
* leeks.

Fiber is essential for balancing blood sugar and maintaining a healthy bowel. It should always be a part of our healthy diet.

We should always follow healthy living tips about Digestive Enzymes and a raw food being one of the best sources of it. It is practically hopeless to achieve a good performance of our Digestive and Immune Systems without knowing enough about their role in our healthy lifestyle.

Acquiring this habit takes much less effort and time as most of us might think – just a little planning. Ignoring this, among all other healthy living tips will make other related effort practically useless.

6. Avoid sugar. Extensive scientific evidence has shown that sugar plays a major role in accelerating aging - especially brain aging.

This is because sugar accelerates the metabolism, generating a storm of free radicals. Also, sugar forms abnormal bonds with proteins and this also hugely accelerates aging. High sugar intake increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease over 300%.

High Fructose Corn Syrup is especially damaging – read labels – often used in breads and other processed foods. Sucrose, the sugar used in processed foods and as a sweetener, causes even greater insulin surge than glucose, the natural form.

It is interesting to look at the sugar consumption trends of the past 300 years:

* In 1700, the average person consumed about 4 pounds of sugar per    year.
* In 1800, the average person consumed about 18 pounds of sugar per    year.
* In 1900, individual consumption had risen to 90 pounds of sugar per    year.
* In 2009, more than 50 percent of all Americans consume one-half pound    of sugar PER DAY — translating into more than whopping 180 pounds of    sugar per year!

Sugar is loaded into our soft drinks, fruit juices, sports drinks, and hidden in almost all processed foods — from bologna to pretzels to Worcestershire sauce to cheese spreads. And even most infant formulas have the sugar equivalent of one can of Coca-Cola, so babies are being metabolically poisoned from day one of their life if taking formula.

No wonder there is an obesity epidemic in this country.

7. Avoid Omega-6 oils (found in corn, safflower, sunflower, peanut, soybean and canola oils). We should not cook with these oils, and should avoid products that contain them (chips, breads, pastries, etc.).

Instead, we need to consume at least two ounces of extra-virgin olive oil a day. This oil contains a number of powerful antioxidants, as well as healthy monounsaturated oil. We can use it on a salad or mix it with other foods.

We are developing various parts of protecting ourselves section, which among other subjects shows what damage promoted by the USDA food pyramid and low fat diet created for generations of American people, following this absolutely unhealthy approach to food and healthy lifestyle. We are better off creating our own healthy eating plan.

8. Take Omega-3 oil supplements and use foods containing or enhanced with this healthy fat. This includes eggs and other foods containing Omega-3.

Omega 3 supplements. Try getting a liquid form of a highly purified fish oil. Ideally it should be molecularly distilled to remove dangerous mercury, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxins. Keep the oil refrigerated. And be sure to get oil that is high in DHA. The Omega-3 oils reduce brain inflammation and cool down excessive immune activity.

9. Eat 5 to 10 servings of fresh vegetables and fruits every day. Choose nutrient-dense vegetables like -

* Broccoli
* Cauliflower
* Brussels sprouts
* Kale
* Celery
* Parsley
* Tomatoes
* Mustard greens
* Turnip greens
* Collard greens
* Squash and
* Onions.

All the above vegetables can be cooked, overcooked or consumed fresh and raw, what is the best option. In this last case all these and other vegetables will keep all their vitamins, probiotics and healthy enzymes in untouched, original form. It helps our digestion, helping our bodies staying healthy, avoiding many future diseases and slowing our aging.

Fruits are high in sugar, so we should eat mostly vegetables and only limited amounts of fruits and also avoiding sweetened fruit juices.

Vegetables and Fruits contain vitamins, minerals, enzymes and special substances called Flavonoids that are powerful antioxidants. If either vegetables or fruits are not on the list of your most favorable foods, visit a good Health Food Store and see if a selection of high quality related “green” supplements would substitute the real products for you.

10. Drink clean water – either fluoridated (also containing aluminum) or bottled water don't do it for us. They simply damage our health.

See more detailed information on our Drinking Water page by following this link. You should also see how not drinking enough water we can create a dehydration caused multitude of "mysterious" health problems by following this link.

Another major source of chemical toxins we have to deal with is the air we breathe, especially in our homes. The good news is that we can control its damage putting some effort into it. We are suggesting you to review our Air Pollution page.

You should also visit our Hydrogen Peroxide Theropy and Ozone Therapy pages for a very effective way to cleanse yourself from various foreign invaders and serious diseases.

11. Do not rely ONLY on our food providing all the required nutrients for us to live longer and healthier life. Our extensively used and overused for decades farmer lands are practically empty of all the required nutrients.

Supplementing with all essential vitamins and minerals is not a choice – it is a very basic requirement. Follow this link to see the list of essential Anti Aging Supplements recommended by the best holistic doctors.

We never stop our search for the best healthy living tips from the best reputable sources and will be expanding this list.
